The Boreal Center is located in Moberly Lake, in the heart of the Boreal Forest. Characterized by Spruce, Pine, and Larches, the Boreal Forest is home to a great deal of wildlife and biodiversity and is the largest ecosystem in Canada. It is also home to many thriving communities and a plethora of natural resources, including oil and gas, timber, water, and minerals. The immense trees and wetlands store a vast amount of the worlds carbon, a major component of greenhouse gas.
Underneath the trees, possibilities abound. Aside from timber, the forest holds a wealth of non-timber forest products, or NTFPs.
